90s Fashion: How to style up as the 90s men

Fashion may have advanced with the decades but one thing noteworthy is that we always seem to look to the past for inspiration. One of trends that is likely making a comeback today is the 90s fashion.

Unlike the excess of the 80s, the 90s trend evolved to a more relaxed minimalistic and rebellious movement. Grunge, street wear, sneakers, athletic designs…, they all saw the light and dominated the 90s fashion. Loose and oversized silhouettes were also popular. If you want to get styled in the 90s fashion today, you should really take a look at the guide below.

Biker Jackets

Leather biker jackets epitomized the edgy and attitude style of the 1990s. Men were often seen in these cool jackets as an anti-fashion statement, regardless of whether you ever rode a bike or not.

If you do not want the tougher trends of the decade, then turtlenecks would be a good fit. They came in two designs; the thick and cosy sweaters and the dark, fitted and ribbed designs.

Many different sub-cultures rocked bandanas in the 90s. This trend was majorly influenced by rappers who wore them to represent their gang attachment. These head accessories came in different colors and prints which the masses later embraced and wore to show off street vibes. Aside from wrapping it around your head, you can wrap it around your wrist, neck or just show them off from your pockets.

Snapback hats

199os was a period when hip-hop got mainstream. So a lot of rappers were seen wearing snapback hats in their music videos as well as in their daily lives. Just like hip-hop, these hats soon got mainstream as men began to wear them all over the place. Snapback hats always featured logos and could be worn forwards or backwards.

Overalls were the rage of the 90s. They were often worn with one strap hanging down. You could borrow a leaf from celebrities like Will Smith and the NSYNC. They could be worn with a white t-shirt and a pair of sneakers.

Baggy Jeans

The Baggy Jeans were quite popular around the late 90s into the early 2000s. They were worn low on the hips with a chain and Velcro wallet attached.

Some of these baggies look super weird and may never make a comeback, but will always have a place in heart of the 90s of the 90s kids.
